we don't need no stinking labels

"Americans Are Too Stupid For GMO Labeling, Congressional Panel Says" ... that's the headline for this article from the Huffington Post (see the full story and video here

I'm all for truth in labeling, but …

I do understand the concern. Someone once said "the public is an idiot" and if you spend much time online in social media you would probably agree. "Food Terrorists" are omnipresent online (successfully) spreading fear over the latest scary sounding chemical found in the food we eat, more often than not with no scientific evidence to support their claims, but that is of no import just as long as they can get you to visit their blog/website where they undoubtedly will bombard you with ads for "healthy, natural" alternatives and "cures" and very little, if any, scientific evidence to back their rhetoric (Food Babe and "Dr" Mercola come to mind).

Cynical … perhaps I am.

Skeptical … I most certainly am.

but … given all that …

Give us truth on our labels and let us decide.

"You can never underestimate the stupidity of the general public." ~Scott Adams

They took all the trees
And put them in a tree museum
Then they charged the people
A dollar and a half just to see 'em
Don't it always seem to go,
That you don't know what you've got
‘Til it's gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot

Hey farmer, farmer
Put away that DDT now
Give me spots on my apples
But LEAVE me the birds and the bees
Please!
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got
‘Til its gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot
