Frankly, I lean towards open borders but really have no dog in this fight.
I was listening on the radio (okay, actually via podcast) to some speeches from various May Day events and was struck by a phrase I heard for the first time when referring to "illegal alien" or "illegal immigrant". The term they used was "aspiring American". I shit you not … aspiring American.
I heard that this morning and have been chuckling all day.
Upon further reflection perhaps this is a term we should use. I kind of like the sound of it
