Just wanted to be sure you were aware that diabetes is linked to genetics. Which of course means that you, your brothers and sisters, and your children are at risk. My mom and her mom both had diabetes. I like to say that "genetics loads the gun and lifestyle pulls the trigger", so helping your children understand the importance of good nutrition and maintaining a healthy weight would be the greatest gift. Wish I had fully understood the whole truth about diabetes when I was younger.
When I was diagnosed with diabetes a few years back my doctor told me "well now you know how you are going to die", seemed cold and a bit strange at the time, but now I fully understand ... barring an accident I will most likely die from a diabetes related complication ... as did my mom and my grandma Cherny. so please help your children save their own lives now.
